I was introduced to food and the cooking process at an early age. My mom was a chef and my dad a better cook. In 2014, I started Modern Steader with a friend to help children redefine their relationship with food.
Today, I am the father of two boys and the kitchen is the backdrop of many of my best memories with them so far. It’s only natural that I collect and provide some backstory for the recipes that they are enjoying as kids. Some day they can flip through the pages of The Rusty Skillet and share the experiences they remember with their kids.
The Rusty Skillet captures the process of developing recipes in my home kitchen. Many of the dishes are inspired by our family travels and others serve as culinary research for the places we dream of exploring someday as a family.
